About Alyson

Alyson is a highly experienced rehabilitation physiotherapist who provides quality home/domicilliary physiotherapy in the Billericay, Brentwood and Chelmsford areas.

She is passionate about helping others to reach their full potential by building confidence and showing them how to continually push at their own boundaries. Treatment aims to build freedom of movement and function, with a goal to helping others re-find the joy in being active.

Having worked in the NHS, Voluntary and Private sectors she has over 25 years of experience in the rehabilitation of people with neurological disorders or complex mobility disabilities.

She also provides education for a range of health professionals. Her courses are innovative, engaging and help others find positive, lasting change in their practises.

Alyson undertakes regular training to keep up to date with recent research and practices, and is Bobath trained. But she has also completed training which is usually reserved for counsellors and coaches. Tis enables her to build better rapport, good communication skills and truly tailor treatment to individual’s needs.

Her range of experience is varied, from working young adults to senior citizens, with a wide range of conditions, from newly acquired (diagnosed) to long standing conditions and end of life care.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate Diploma in Physiotherapy,
  • Advance Bobath trained,
  • Premier Practitioner NLP,
  • NVQ 3 (PTLLS) Adult education
  • Clean Language practitioner
Affiliations:
  • Registered by the Health Care Professions Council
  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • Association of Chartered Physiotherapists interested in Neurology
  • Multiple sclerosis Trust
  • Dignity Champion for Essex County Council

A member of Association of Physiotherapists Interested in Neurology, registered with the MS Trust, and a dignity champion she is dedicated to finding the best pathway for each individual’s need.

By receiving treatment in your own home you get to implement any gains immediately, becoming used to carrying out new things in your own environment. Gaining better carryover from one treatment to the next.

Wherever possible, during the assessment, you will be given simple exercises and tasks which you can begin using straight away to build confidence, and knowledge of how you can become more connected to your body to gain better balance or control.

Alyson believes that treatment is best done as a partnership, and will explain the “what” and “how” of recovery… what is likely to work best… and how that can be best implemented into everyday life.

Helping

Whenever possible activities can be taken from the home to outside settings with exploration of expanding your own boundaries, at your own pace and following your own goals.

We may incorporate your own hobbies/pastimes into your treatment programme and she is happy to visit other places with you such as your gym, work place etc if necessary.

Alyson works with complex needs cases, working in conjunction with other specialists, under the guidance of case managers.

She visits nursing/care homes and often works with patients, their family members and/or carers, to build an ongoing exercise/activity programme.

Visiting up to an area of a 15 mile radius of Billericay, she currently visits Basildon, Wickford, Chelmsford, and Brentwood.

Customers who talk about us

A great help to my 88 year old mother. My mother’s mobility was severely impacted by rheumatoid arthritis and a fear of falling as an extremely nervous person.

Alyson has been treating my husband following his discharge from hospital after a severe stroke post a heart bypass.
I really cannot speak too highly of her, in short she has provided motivation, knowledge and expertese of such exceptional quality, I doubt there is a better neuro physiotherapist anywhere else the country.
She has my and my family’s full confidence and I would thoroughly recommend her services. She is quite remarkable.
